How Do You Stay in Tune When Life Goes Off-Key?

After the Bologna Book Fair last April, life spun into motion in unexpected ways. Here’s a look behind the curtain — a glimpse of where the Ukulittle® journey has taken me lately, from workshops to real-life lessons in resilience. Thank you for following along and supporting this journey. Ukulittle® keeps evolving, and me with it — Thanks for keeping the chaos in tune.
Looking ahead across borders
Ukulittle® remains firmly rooted in the UK, where the brand is a registered trademark across several categories. My strategy continues to focus on gaining traction in the UK and English-speaking markets, with Italy acting as an appendix — a vibrant testing ground that proves the brand’s international potential.
With this recent rearrangement, prompted by my London landlady’s decision to sell her property, I’ve found a more sustainable rhythm for my freelance life. While the UK remains my main professional base, spending part of the year in Italy has become a practical and balanced way to manage costs, energy, and continuity. The milder climate supports my energy and focus, helping me keep my teaching and creative rhythm sustainable throughout the year, and the lower cost of living allows me to focus on term-based work around 8–10 weeks at a time without the constant strain of London’s rising expenses. For a self-employed teacher and creative whose income naturally ebbs and flows, this step has brought a bit more stability and breathing room to strengthen existing projects and sustain long-term partnerships. Ukulittle® continues to grow organically through its sessions, workshops, and partnerships across Italy and the UK. Are you a school business manager, nursery director, venue coordinator, or creative partner interested in joining forces? Please feel free to get in touch by emailing hello@ukulittle.com I’m always happy to explore meaningful collaborations that align with the brand’s vision.
What’s live now
• Ukulele + English Trials (Castiglione di Ravenna) Wednesday 24 September was sold out and has led to the Ukulittle® Foundation Stage Autumn Block, with two new groups of children aged between four and six. I’m thrilled to tell you that the children continue to be engaged, and we’re all forming genuine, strong bonds along the way. I’m creating a Testimonial page with the fantastic feedback I collected post-event, so call back again on this site in November to check them out. I will also report back once the children complete their Foundation Stage. See highlights here
• Lulu Lupin The Wolf Who Loved Music (London) A magical first ukulele experience for ages 5–7. First created and performed at Festival Naturae 2023, this StoryLab is now being translated into English and brought to London for the first time, with me as FantaLupa, Cameron Zeki as LongPaw, and Alisa Paraev as TippyTail, with the welcoming support of Nicky Grace at her gorgeous Green Shed in North London. Book here
• Kidz Kabin Nursery (Muswell Hill, London) – Planning is already under way for Lulu Lupin The Wolf Who Loved Music to be delivered at Kidz Kabin Nursery (Pembroke Studios) in early 2026. Their imaginative, nurturing approach makes it the perfect space for our StoryLab to grow. See why it’s special
• ClassBento I’ve joined ClassBento, a UK-based platform connecting learners with creative sessions across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. For now, it’s a test ground supported by their mentorship programme, and although still early days, it could open doors to new learners and international reach. Discover it here
Open Days and Venues
• La Cavallina Storna (Savio, Ravenna) A beautiful country house and B&B, known for their warm hospitality and a compassionate, mindful riding method (International Horseman Academy). This year they hosted my Ukulittle® Open Day as part of Festival Naturae 2025, and I thank them for always supporting my work and for providing wonderful cultural experiences for the local community. I’m excited to be part of their Halloween celebrations this autumn. Find them here
• Buskers Festival (Lido di Classe, Ravenna) – (11/7/25) Around June I chose to roll up my street-artist sleeves, rework and rehearse a solo set, and quickly slip into my FantaLupa skin to play under a brightly moonlit, starry sky on our freshly planted beautiful promenade. It was a strange and moving night — performing alone, so soon after heartbreak, yet finding comfort through songs like Tree Woman and Fix You, which carried me through that surreal sense of detachment and back into connection. The performance was warmly received, with generous donations from the audience — and, as the cherry on the cake, the festival was featured on Videoregione Romagna TV. You can find this and other current and past events on the Press page of the new Ukulittle® website. Watch it here
New website and blog
I’m excited to share the revamped Ukulittle® website, now live with a clearer structure, a blog for real updates, and space to share the process as well as the results of my specialised method for early learners. Over the winter I’ll be scripting short YouTube clips to expand the world of UkuLeela™, her friends, and her native land of Flickerwick.
For now, if you have a moment, please peek at the site and the animated clip we created with help from my brother Alberto Gianni, and feel free to share it with your family and friends if you like what you see. Take a peek
North London Ukulele Club
The North London Ukulele Club has been at the origins of my ukulele journey, spreading the love for this quirky little instrument across North London and welcoming learners of all ages. If you’d like to see what some of my past students are up to, give Liz Roberts and Alexia Hodgson a follow, with their duo The Hummingbirds now flying high! Go and support their live act if you fancy a harmonious evening at one of their local gigs, fundraisers, or community events. They also perform to support educational projects, so it’s always music with heart. Check them out
Bookings for ukulele lessons in London are active for the spring term 2026. Book your in-person ukulele trial lesson now and get an early bird discount for your 2026 block. Several of my returning London students have already secured their spots!
